FIFTH GRADE

Ms. Jasmine
Ms. Jasmine joins us as our middle school science teacher. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education and Special Education.
​

​During the past ten years she has worked in schools in roles ranging from science teacher to academic support coordinator. Ms. Jasmine is passionate about empowering students and families to be advocates for their education and development.
   
In addition to her teaching experience, Ms. Jasmine has extensive experience in academic and social emotional curriculum development.

Ms. Kathy

Ms. Kathy assumes a new role at ISL this year as 5th grade ELA teacher and Resource / Collaboration teacher.  She has a BA degree in English and an MBA in marketing and finance. In the field of education, she holds an MAT and a post-master's certificate in K-12 special education from Bellarmine University.

She has taught 5th grade at ISL in 2015-2016, 5th-6th grade ELA and Math in 2019-2020, and in 2020 returned to teaching 5th grade from 2020 to 2022.

Before coming to ISL, Ms. Kathy taught 5th - 6th graders for 9 years at two private schools for students with special learning needs. She also taught 3rd - 6th grade special needs students in Oldham County schools after earning her K-12 special needs teaching certificate.  Ms. Kathy also has previous experience in the publishing field as a writer, editor, production editor, and product manager.

Ms. Kathy brings her passion for individualized teaching and learning to her new role at ISL.
